I need to get something off my chest, <<First Name>>
Because there’s something that’s plaguing change leaders, and it’s got to STOP.
*takes a deep breath*
It’s this whole idea that all you need is to frame the problem, set clear goals and then sell the change to people in order to make change happen.

*record scratch*
“Ed... hold up. Don’t you LOVE clarity and getting people excited about change?” is what I assume you just said in your head.
And my answer to that is YES I DO!
AND I know that with the RIGHT programme, you can take your team or business from an idea in your head to beautifully celebrating success together in your favourite bar someplace.
The method isn’t the problem, my friend.
👉🏻 It’s the “we-HAVE-to-do-this” mentality that most people leading change unwittingly bring in to the very fabric of their change projects that is causing them so. much. pain and stress! 👈🏻
I hate to rain on your parade, but just because you’ve…
… spent weeks or months creating a plan of what to do
… created spreadsheets to map and minimise risk
… been in meetings for hours on end with other important people
… doesn’t mean people are gonna embrace change 🙊
I know because I’ve been there and I have also seen it happen to so many other teams I have worked with (hundreds over the past 12 years.)
When I have tried this kind of approach… nothing really changes. I just ended up doing a bunch more work. Feel familiar?
Insert all the tears as I wondered if I were really cut out for this whole leadership thing anyway.
But after taking some time out to leave my ego at the door and REALLY dig deep on the successful changes I was part of and reflected on the, HUNDREDS of improvements to the process over years.
… I am now able to deliver change faster, with more innovation and with less resistance than I could EVER have imagined back then.
