September is here!

Now that school nights have ended, I hope that everyone has had a big jump in membership!  Great job done by our new DE, Barry Fisher, and Beth Evans, our membership chair.  Thank you for all that volunteered to help out with school nights!

Roundtable is tomorrow night at 6:30pm at Fort Oglethorpe United Methodist Church.  Dinner will be served, yes, most-likely a form of pasta again.  $5 at the door for those who wish to eat.  We will also be having another round of door prizes with the big give away of a $25 gift certificate to Bass Pro (if I can find what I did with it).

Popcorn sales are among us now.  Hopefully everyone is doing well there.  Don't forget, you get a 50% profit for those who sale online!

Training classes are coming up for your new leaders on September 17 at 8:30am in Ringgold at Ringgold United Methodist Church.  Registration deadline has passed, but if you call Amy before Friday, we can probably squeeze you in.  Be prepared to pay $10 at the door.  You will receive a book for whatever class it is that you are taking (which is why there is a $10 fee).

August was a busy month.  Ocoee hosted their annual Great Hiawassee River Raft Race.  We had our Cub Scout Fun Day at Camp Discovery.  Pictures from both events are posted below.

As a heads up, the district fall camporee has been canceled.  And don't forget September 25th is the day to be at Lake Winnie.  All scouts must be in Class A uniforms to gain free entry - so please remind all of your new scouts of this policy.

Your Unit Commissioners should have sent out emails from Commissioner Tools for your detailed assessments.  Please click on the link in your email and complete those online.  Believe it or not, this does affect each and every one of us as our biggest donor, United Way, looks at the metrics that are produced by this assessment and judges their donation via the metrics.

As a heads up - October 1 is our fishing derby which will take place at Jackson Lake again.  I'm not sure what kind of bait you need to be using, but there are fish in there - so best of luck to you.  IOLS training is September 30 through October 2 at Audobon Acres.  The registration deadline is coming up quick for that, so please do not hesitate to register if you are needing this training.  Cub N Partner is also in October with John Ross's weekend being October 21-23.  If you are able to volunteer to help, please contact Bill Conley at
