Hey Friend!

This week we were preparing for our vacation and a good friend's wedding in Ithaca, NY when we got the news of another dear friend's passing.

It is not possible for me to think about how these seemingly opposite events are occurring the same week. How can we mark the joyous occasion of the start of our friends' life together and the ending of another couples life together?

It is hard to fathom why the world should lose such a kind person. Allison worked in animal shelters, food pantries, and non-profits like The Seeing Eye and Liberty Science Center coordinating volunteers. Her life was dedicated to helping others, humans & animals.

But there was the time we had with her which was filled with laughter, dogs, cats, a beautiful garden and good food.

While death and dying is holds such mystery, it's lessons are vibrant. Life live! To live in this moment.

I was at a yoga class a couple years ago with one of my favorite teachers, Jasmine Tarkeshi. She had us turn to a neighbor, look into each others eyes and say,

"I'm going to die. You're going to die. We only have this moment."

If you are reading this right now, this is the moment! The moment you are alive to be present to all of it. The moment just to be grateful being with each other.

This is the moment to live!

Speaking of celebrating life, who is up for a local Ganesha Chathurti celebration in Woodbridge, NJ?? If you want to go together, let me know. Ganesha is a beautiful symbol of holding opposites. His big belly holds all of life. Considered the remover of obstacles, Ganesha is a god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. And also celebrated in its most ancient form as ultimate reality.
