Submit your application for the Spring 2017 LSU NSF I-Corp Site Program now. Register your team, individually, or as a mentor. Application deadline is Thursday, January 19, 2017.

This program supports teams through critical market and commercialization evaluations associated with LSU developed ideas and technologies. This is a great opportunity to learn entrepreneurial principles and answer important commercialization questions related to grant programs and identifying industry partners and potential licensees.

$600,000 Research Funding Opportunity

The Moore Inventors Fellow program is an opportunity for LSU faculty member, research scientist, postdoc, or other full-time staff members, who are within ten years of receiving their Ph.D., to receive $600,000 in funding for innovations with the potential to accelerate progress in the areas of scientific research, environmental conservation, or patient care.

The National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer (NCET2) is searching for the best University Startups of 2017. Submit your company for a chance to be named one of the 40 Best University Startups for 2017 and be awarded a presentation slot at the University Startups Conference and Demo Day in Washington, event that brings together university startups, entrepreneurs, Fortune 1000/Global 1000 corporations, VCs, angel investors, policy leaders, and federal government agencies.

NAI Student Innovation Showcase

The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) is introducing the NAI Student Innovation Showcasea program designed to give students the opportunity to showcase their inventions and be recognized for their work at this high-level interdisciplinary academic conference and the opportunity to be matched with an NAI Fellow who will provide mentorship in the potential commercialization process of their technology.

Congratulations LIFT2 Awardees

LSU awarded over $500,000 to 14 faculty members in the fifth round of the LIFT2 grant program. The following LSU A&M proposal submissions received funding from the fifth round of LIFT2:
  • T. Warren Liao, Muhammad Wahab, and Ayman Okeil's enhanced weld testing system.
  • Guang Jia, Joseph Steiner, and Kenneth "Kip" Matthews's improved cancer scan imaging system.
  • Jin-Woo Choi and Maria Teresa Gutierrez-Wing's state-of-the-art light sources for algae cultures.
  • Yongcheol Lee's improved construction site communication network.  
  • Shafiqul Chowdhury's vaccine against swine fever and other diseases.
  • Isiah Warner and Girija Sahasrabudhe's strengthened  blue OLEDs.
  • Yaunhang Chen's improved system to control oil drilling temperatures.
  • Donghui Zhang's innovative method of monitoring food and drug freshness.

Propeller's 2017 Growth Accelerator Program

Propeller's Growth Accelerator is a three-month intensive program is specifically designed to offer tailored mentorship, resources, and networks to help ventures working in water management, food access, health, and educational equity to grow and scale. Participating ventures will be working towards scaling their impact, raising external investment (debt/equity), and increasing revenues, customers, and contracts.

Water Challenge 2017

Water Challenge 2017 will award $15,000 in total start-up funding for solutions that will address our urban water, coastal environment, or local water economy. Pitch your solution in front of a panel of judges and 200+ audience members on March 20, 2016 and help make a difference.
