Make Investments in Peace
<<First Name>>,

Welcome to Monday of a new week. If you are sheltering at home, maybe this doesn't feel like a new week or a Monday. Maybe this day feels like every other day of your recent history.

During worship, yesterday, we began to explore God's New Normal. If you find that your current normal is routine, uncomfortable, boring, or monotonous, I want to encourage you that you have an opportunity. You have an opportunity, right now, to make some investments that have the potential to create a better normal when things "get back to normal."

This week we are focusing on peace, because God's New Normal is a New Normal of Peace. The world in which is live is full of strife, division, and war, but into this place God desires peace.

In worship I encouraged you to make a list of three ways that you can invest in peace this week. Have you made your list yet? What does it look like? How do you plan to implement this peace investment plan into your life? I'd love it if you shared your peace investment list with me so that I can pray for your efforts this week.

I've been working on my list:
1. Help my faith community practice peace.
2. Take two full days away from church work to quiet my soul and seek personal peace.
3. Speak a word of peace each day to my family.

To help you and to help me with my list, I have prepared a daily devotional for you. This devotional is designed to help you think about peace and grow in you understanding of God's peace. I pray that this devotion is helpful to you in your daily life.

Please continue to pray each day at 12:29.

In Christ,

Did you miss Sunday worship?
During worship yesterday, we explored God's New Normal of Peace and celebrated Holy Communion. I was moved as we participated together through our screens and phones.

If you missed live worship, you can still participate on demand at the website. Click HERE to go to our worship and message archives. If you found worship helpful, you can also share these videos with your family and friends.
Online Communion is coming this Sunday.
During worship, yesterday, we celebrated Holy Communion for the first time since the beginning of March. Communion looked a little different because we were all scattered in different places; however, God brought us together through the power of the Holy Spirit.

During the Easter Season we are going to celebrate Holy Communion each week. I've prepared a prayerful reflection on communion and making communion break. if you haven't done so already, I encourage you to watch it, and consider making your own bread for communion. (I promise it is super easy and can be very meaningful.)

During these times and all times, the ministry of the church continues. Your generosity makes us able to create hope by connecting families and children with the life changing love of Jesus. During these anxious times, this is more important than ever. Please consider giving generously online at Or by mailing in your contribution.
