Property Compliance for the 17/18 Bushfire Season
Your responsibilities as a property owner/tenant
Volunteer Fire Fighters would like to thank all property owners that completed hazard reduction work on their land before the last fire season.
Managing the fire risks on your property assists volunteer fire fighters if a fire was to start in the area.
A Fire Management Requirement Notice will be sent to Property Owners with their Rates Notice. This gives you the information on the standard of work required for your property to reduce the fire hazard over the summer period.
If you are using a contractor to complete work please contact them now to ensure that the work can be completed by the due date of 1 November 2017 and must be maintained through until the 30 April 2018.
Fire Control Officers from the Shire will start inspecting properties in the first week of November and infringements will be issued to those that don't meet the requirements.
If you have any questions please contact the Shire on 9821 9999.

Talking about: About a boy by Nick Hornby
Next Book: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
This story, dazzling in its powerful simplicity and inspiring wisdom, is about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from his homeland in Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of a treasure buried in the Pyramids.
Along the way, he meets a Gypsy woman, a man who calls himself king, and an alchemist, all of whom point Santiago in the direction of his quest. No one knows what the treasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles along the way. But what starts out as a journey to find worldly goods turns into a discovery of the treasure found within.
Lush, evocative, and deeply humane, the story of Santiago is an eternal testament to the transforming power of our dreams and the importance of listening to our hearts.
