2017 LNC Forum Recap

Last month a capacity crowd gathered at Fidelity Investments for our 10th Annual Leadership North Carolina Forum "Leadership in a State of Change."  Group discussions were led by Anita Brown-Graham of the UNC School of Government and David Dodson of MDC.  They set the stage for conversations about how North Carolina can make better decisions and how we can build North Carolina’s economic future by leveraging the five LNC content areas of economic development, education, environment, government, and health and human services. Recruiting Leaders for LNC Class XXV
Are you interested in learning about challenges and opportunities in North Carolina while building connections with leaders from across the state?  Do you know someone who would be an excellent LNC candidate?  The LNC recruitment committee is working hard to build the next great class of North Carolina leaders, and they need your help.
LNC provides a unique opportunity to learn more about the state and explore opportunities for engagement.  It is equally powerful for lifelong residents and for those new to North Carolina.  The application period for LNC Class XXV (2017-2018) runs May 17-June 30, 2017, and the Class XXV program years kicks off in October.  General information about the program is available here, and the Class XXV program schedule and interest form are available here.  (Read More)
Program Update:  LNC Class XXIV (2016-2017)
The members of LNC Class XXIV are just two sessions away from wrapping up the 2016-2017 program year.  This diverse group of 55 leaders from across the state first came together for their Orientation session in Boone in October.  They formed quick connections and were immediately engaged when they reconvened in Raleigh for their November Government session.  Since then they have gathered in Winston-Salem for the Education session and in Charlotte for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Health and Human Services session.
They will meet in New Bern in March and in Asheville in April for their final two program sessions. May 11th will mark their graduation from the LNC program, their transition to alumni, and the start of their work planning the program content for LNC Class XXV.

Maggie Stroud Joins LNC Team
Maggie Stroud joined the LNC team as our alumni relations and program coordinator last month. She brings to this role more than 10 years of experience in project management and community service. Maggie was born and raised in New Bern and relocated to Raleigh while attending Meredith College. Her North Carolina roots and love for the state are strong! In addition to serving numerous local community organizations, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, trying out a new recipe, and playing with her sweet dog, Lily.
Maggie will work closely with the LNC Alumni Committee, running point on the annual LNC Forum and the LNC Mentor program, and coordinating LNC alumni programming and LNC alumni receptions. Maggie will help maintain the LNC database and track and process gifts from the alumni, corporate, and William Garrett Fund campaigns. We’re thrilled to have Maggie join the LNC team and hope you’ll take a moment to welcome her.
