Momentum Matters
SEPTEMBER 2021
Tech Training opened doors and provided direction for this recent grad
Despite her passion for computers, Vanessa was intimidated by the level of schooling that she anticipated for a career in technology. While pursuing a different path, she heard about Momentum’s Compass Youth Tech training. What followed was a new path and a network of peers and instructors to help her along the way.

Education Savings – progress and a path forward

It’s back-to-school time and parents are busy making sure their kids make a smooth transition back to the classroom. Here at Momentum, we’ve been working with families since 2008 to help them plan for longer term goals, like saving for their children’s education after high school. We have recently published two reports to capture the outcomes of these efforts and to propose opportunities for public policy change to ensure all families in Canada can build their children’s education savings.

Make your votes count

This fall, citizens have an opportunity to cast their ballots to elect a new federal government in September, and to vote for mayor, city councillors, school trustees and have a say on issues like daylight savings time and fluoridation in October. To learn more about the election process, Momentum’s policy priorities, and how to cast your ballot, check out our posts on Canada’s Federal Election and Calgary’s Municipal Election.
