THE TCK ROLE AGAINST RACISM
Welcome to the Weekly Roundup: the quick-and-dirty way for us to share the best of the TCK resources that come across our desks.

The journey toward becoming more actively anti-racist is a marathon, not a sprint. It can also be especially nuanced and personal for people who spend their time navigating multiple cultures. Below you will find three books that tackle this complex subject from a culturally complex perspective to read on your own or with your TCKs. Let’s keep the conversation going. Anyone up for a book club??

Growing Up in Transit is a new and timely book on the TCK scene by long time TCK researcher and speaker, Danau Tanu. She went back to an international high school, Never Been Kissed-style to ask how Eurocentric ideologies contribute to social and racial hierarchies among classmates that "reproduce global socio-cultural inequalities. Don't miss this much needed conversation!

In NYT Best-seller Me and White Supremacy author Layla F. Saad draws from her unique multicultural experience to educate and challenge readers to 28 days of self-examination and anti-racism work from a global perspective. Fair warning: this book is challenging to work through; but oh, so worth it.

Stamped from the Beginning (and the Remix for younger readers!) is an in-depth look at the history and current state of racism in the United States. This is an important book for giving context to the events in the States for international readers, and for TCKs with U.S. citizenship to better understand their passport country.
