We would like to take this opportunity to introduce another summer student that has joined us here at Comrie's. David Boersma is a student at Mount Royal, studying sport and recreational management. He has been working at Hockey Experts for five years, and teaches skating with the City of Calgary. David has played ice hockey, roller hockey, ball hockey, track and field (100m, 200m and 4x100m relay), soccer, and softball. He has also coached hockey and soccer. He brings a lot of knowledge and experience when it comes to outfitting our clients and with his love of sports he is a perfect fit for the team!
Wood Automotive Group, KidSport Calgary, and Comrie's Sports Equipment Bank are pleased to present and congratulate our first hero, Evelyn! Evelyn's Fast Pitch team joined the Kid Hero of the Month crew at a pizza party on June 27, 2017 where Dave Dickenson, Head Coach of the Stampeders, presented Evelyn with her award. We are so grateful to be part of such a wonderful initiative which recognizes the young athletes in our community! As you may have noticed Comrie's Sports Equipment Bank has made the decision to pull our donation bins from the arenas. This is due to the overwhelming generosity of Calgarians which has made the first three years of this program extremely successful. We will still be collecting donations at the Wood Automotive Group Locations and at our shop; however, at this time we want to focus more on the distribution of equipment. If you are interested in helping "get kids into gear" please help us educate families, agencies, schools, and sports organizations about our program. If you would like more information about our program to help educate people in your community please contact Adriel Allen, Program Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We want to send a big thank you to Telus for coming out on May 30th to help us with organizing, sizing, and inventorying our off-site storage facility. As an organization that relies heavily on volunteers having 45 people contributing 135 combined hours made such a huge impact! The work completed that day will help us better serve our clients well into the future! Thank you, Telus, for helping us "get kids into gear"!
We were very grateful to be involved with the Hockey Calgary Golf Tournament held at Sirocco Golf Club. Thank you to Kevin Kobelka who is not only the Executive Director at Hockey Calgary but who is also on our Board of Directors at Comries Sports Equipment Bank. Also a big shout out to Chris Bright, Jordan Eberle, and LaVerne Bramall for supporting Comrie’s Sports Equipment Bank. This was a fantastic event, as always!

Thank you to Kaela and Nicole for choosing Comrie's Sports Equipment Bank as their Make 150 Count grant recipient! When RBC gave $150 to each of these young ladies they decided their positive impact would be to help "get kids into gear"! By spending their grant on items they found on our urgent needs list they were able to provide much needed sports equipment to families on our waiting list! You girls are the MVP's!
