Triplets of Belleville Movie Night on May 22

Join us for our first cycling movie night at artsPlace on Sunday May 22 at 7:30pm! Entry is pay what you can, with a suggested donation of $10. The proceeds will go to support our programs to nourish a strong cycling culture in Canmore.

The Triplets of Belleville (Les triplettes de Belleville) is often described as one of the greatest cycling movies of all time! When her grandson Champion is kidnapped during the Tour de France, Madame Souza and her beloved dog Bruno team up with the Belleville Sisters, an aged song-and-dance trio from the days of Fred Astaire, to rescue him.

This is the first in a series of bicycle-themed movie nights. We'll be showcasing feature length films to complement the short films shown at our Annual Bike Shorts Festival in the fall. Have a personal favourite ? E-mail with your suggestions.

Learn About Cargo Bikes on May 28

Cargo biking is an easy and efficient way to get around Canmore with your family for work, recreation and running day-to-day errands.

On Saturday May 28th from 11:00am-12:00pm at The Hub, Andy Esarte will share his experience of transitioning from a two-car family to a one-car, one-cargo bike family over the past five years.  In his presentation he will share experiences using a variety of cargo bikes to haul kids, groceries, and even 40 liter bags of soil for the garden!

Andy Esarte is a local resident and as Town engineer is working to promote and build a transportation network to allow people of all ages and abilities to get around Canmore in a variety of ways.

Coffee and muffins will be served! This session is free for members and $5 for non-members. Contact us at to register.

May 30 is Canmore Bike to Work Day

To celebrate Bike Day in Canada, we're partnering with the Canmore BRZ to host Canmore Bike to Work Day. Visit to commit to ride on May 30 and get a maple leaf on the map!

Our volunteer mechanics will be staffing a repair stand in front the the Civic Centre at 7:30am-9:00am, 11:30am-1:00pm, and 3:30pm-5:00pm. Stop by the stand to get a tune up or just spin our wheel to win a prize!

BRZ volunteers will also be cruising around Canmore leaving ballots on bikes with a chance to enter to win exciting prizes.

8th Annual reCYCLE Round Up a Success

Thanks to those that donated bikes and all of our volunteers for making our 8th annual reCYCLE Round Up a success!

One of our objectives is to make bikes more accessible to everyone in Canmore. To that end, each spring we hold our annual reCYCLE Round up, collecting bikes donated from the community and after minor repairs selling them back into the community at an accessible cost.

We had great weather for our sale on May 6 and 7, and thanks to an enthusiastic response from the community, our volunteers sold close to 30 bikes for an average price of $50 each. The proceeds from the sale will go to support our work at The Hub.
