Half Day Attendance

We have noticed higher rates of student absences on half day Fridays.  Please make sure that your child is attending school on half day Fridays so they do not miss critical instructional time.  As a reminder, students who are not in attendance for 90% of the school year are at risk for truancy and may be retained based on attendance data.

Parents Make The Difference!!! - Have You Filled A Bucket Today?

Greetings Parents/Guardians!

The theme for the month of October was Bully Prevention, where we taught and encouraged our scholars how to be bully-free.  Each day, our scholars learned different ways on how they can work together to prevent bullying.  Some examples consist of being a Bucket-Filler, which is someone who says or does something nice for other people and signing and saying a pledge stating their commitment to stand up against bullying.  I am very pleased to see our scholars participate in this initiative and ask parents to support your children with filling buckets on a daily basis.  I hope our scholars continue to demonstrate their commitment to being "Bucket Fillers" here at Kuumba and in the community.
