Bury St Edmunds Job Centre, Jobs Fair

The Jobs Fair at Bury St Edmunds Job Centre was a great success. With our active travel information proving popular with over 130 job seekers and the staff, we managed to help lots of people find ways to travel with active options.

When speaking with people, the impression was, that as not everybody had cars, they thought it would be more difficult to travel around the town. However, with the help of walking routes, cycling routes and Suffolk on Board journey planner, this gave lots of people the information they didn't know was freely available. Read more

NHS Careers Event - West Suffolk College

Engaging with over 100 people promoting active travel at the West Suffolk College NHS event was extremely helpful to both staff and students alike. One student in particular, explained how she cycled from the town centre to West Suffolk Hospital. She explained that not only are the routes flat, which makes cycling easier, but it is much quicker than sitting in traffic. Join Cotswold Outdoor staff raising money for Walking with the Wounded who support homeless and other vulnerable veterans this Christmas on Sunday 4 December 08:45- 16:00.

Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre with Micks Cycles

Working with Micks Cycles last week as part of the Bury St Edmunds Christmas market proved popular with Bury residents travelling into the centre. Lots of market goers were not aware how close they actually lived in walking and cycling distance to the town centre. Providing green alternatives, such as walking and cycling alongside Micks Cycles, gave residents the information they needed on journey planning information.

Micks Cycles are offering FREE safety checks up until Christmas, and also up to 30% off End of Season Bikes until Christmas.
