The Lincoln Series Welcomes a New Governor

As The Lincoln Series grows so does its Board of Governors! We are happy to welcome Wynita Yancy, an alumna of the Leadership Class of 2009, as the Communications Chair on the Board.
Wynita Yancy started her career in advertising before starting an event-based company as a full-time entrepreneur. Since then, Wynita has built her career as a Communications and Events professional working within the financial sector in downtown Chicago.

Wynita’s enthusiasm for politics started in 2008 when she volunteered for her first statewide campaign. Following this campaign, she became a Precinct Committeewoman for Thornton Township and has since focused her political efforts in helping Chicago’s underprivileged communities. She launched a successful nonprofit in 2013 with local business leaders to provide opportunities and resources to young adults, who have been affected by poverty, gang/gun violence and sexual exploitation as its mission. Through her leadership, the organization was able to secure donations totaling over $43,000 in value; fed more than 200 meals per week to at-risk youth; and provided summer programming and curriculum to the Garfield Park and Humboldt Park Chicago communities. In her time as Executive Director, she recruited more than 100 volunteers and led a team of twelve to help manage the organization as staff and the Associate Board.

Currently, Wynita is a participant in the Young Conservatives for Clean Energy and supports fundraising and Donor Relation initiatives for multiple nonprofit organizations in Chicago.

Give the Gift of
The Lincoln Series Membership

Looking to give your politically-minded relative or friend something different for Christmas, Hanukkah or birthday? A membership to The Lincoln Series is the perfect gift. New to The Lincoln Series, The Empowerment Track allows you or a friend or relative to take advantage of learning and networking opportunities at a discounted rate as well as exclusive programming not open to non-members. Programming will take place via webinar, conference call or in person so it's great for the busy woman. Some of the programming topics will include fundraising, public speaking, and social media and many more to be announced in January on and via our newsletter.   Membership dues (Jan-Dec) are $50.00 and include a variety of benefits.

If you or your loved one is graduate of The Lincoln Series Leadership program (now offered under The Leadership Track), we are pleased to offer you reduced annual (Jan-Dec) dues of $25.00.  If you are interested in getting more involved, please contact someone you know on the Board of Governors or you can reach out to us through the Contact Page.

Whether you are considering membership for yourself or as a gift, January is just a couple weeks away so now is the time to join as a member of The Lincoln Series to enjoy a full year of benefits.
Please keep The Lincoln Series in mind for end-of-the-year donations. Just $10, $25 or $50 helps to fund our programming.    As we work together as Republicans, as Illinoisans, to build a better, stronger, more ethical state, we all win when we include more women at the governing table - local, state or federal. With your donation and support, we can work toward that goal faster. Thank you for your consideration!
