Hello from Holly Hedge!

We hope you, your friends and family, and your pets are staying safe and well. Here at Holly Hedge, our dogs and cats are enjoying extra love and attention from our amazing team, thanks very much to your support.

We have all been deeply touched by the kindness and support we have received over the last two months. You have sent us heartfelt personal letters, words of encouragement on our social media channels, as well as generous and very much appreciated donations. We want to thank you all for everything you’ve done and continue to do, without you all, we couldn’t continue our vital work.

We are missing our incredible army of volunteers dreadfully, but the best thing for our rescues is for you all to stay safe and keep well, the reunions will be so worth these trying months.

Since our last email our adoption procedure remains the same, you can read it here if you missed our last email. To protect our core team of animal carers and our visitors by minimising contact we continue to stay closed to the general public.  We are still rescuing animals who need us, working extra hard to ensure all of our animals continue to receive the highest level of care. Our reduced office staff are answering enquiries as soon as possible, but please do bear with us as we are working through a backlog of enquiries.

Please bear with us as we learn to navigate through these new procedures and be reassured that we'll treat all adoptions on a case by case basis. We know there are wonderful loving homes out there, but we have to be thorough as having our animals come back to us due to an incompatible match would be devastating for them. Since the end of March we have rehomed 31 cats which helps us continue to save those that are struggling like Patch.
PatchPatch was a stray found in Wales, and we are the third rescue shelter he has been in, as he was getting increasingly stressed in the last one that asked us to help. He’s understandably a nervous cat, but has nothing to worry about anymore. He is now in the hands of our amazing cattery team who will work with him to bring him out of his shell, and when he is ready to find his forever home, we will make sure it is everything he deserves and more.

Thank you all for your support and understanding as always. xx

It takes just two minutes to help us win £1,000!

We have been lucky to have received this money for the last 2 years, and with our summer events cancelled we could use this extra support more than ever.

Recently we told you about our orphan puppies and their incredible journey of unconditional love. We had so many lovely messages for the puppies and raised all the funds we needed to cover their vet bill, thank you! In more wonderful news, all the puppies have amazing homes to go to!

The little ones are growing up so quickly! They are now just over 7 weeks old and are happily playing and running around on their strong little legs, getting into mischief! Not only that, they are drinking from a bowl and eating solid food! They loved it so much they licked their bowls clean.

These are such important milestones for them, and ones we are so happy we are able to celebrate with you. These precious moments remind us that they have a bright future ahead of them because of your help, and the help of their amazing foster mums (two and four-legged!), Jo & Lottie and Cariann & Coco.

Our Facebook auction raises a spectacular £6,009.55!

For a few years on our facebook two of our amazing volunteers have run an online auction to raise funds for our rescues. Every year they work harder to make the auction even more successful and this year they almost doubled what was raised last year! To everyone who donated, who purchased, and those who shared and tagged others, and to the Swing for Victory Dance 2020 team who have spent months organising this fabulous auction, we thank you! As our summer events have been cancelled these vital funds mean the world to us.

Meet Coco! A little old chap who loves a cuddle and his toys!

Adoptions are a little tricky for us right now, but our friends at ProDog Raw asked us if they could help by editing some videos of our dogs that are often overlooked, in the hope it might reach the people who could become their forever family. ProDog were also generous enough to deliver some delicious treats to our rescues, which went down a treat and didn't last long!

As well as Coco, Charlie and Lucy got a lovely video made for them! Click their names to visit their profile and watch their videos. For anyone looking to adopt our rescues please see a link below taking you to a note about how we're processing adoptions.
