Our Christmas cards are on sale!

Our judges deliberated long and hard looking through the Christmas card entries (and went through many many cups of tea!) and we have our winners! We are so grateful to all of you for helping them make a very difficult decision, in the end they couldn’t just choose 3 designs, so we have 4!

There was such an abundance of creativity and talent, it’s been so lovely to see all your artwork and how much you all cherish your cats and dogs, our hearts are brimming with joy and gratitude to each of you who took part.

Thank you so much to Aiden Lannon, Sophie Peters, Maddie Lannon and Caroline Beek who were our winning designers! These lovely cards in our Sanctuary, in our charity shops and also at our Christmas fair with a limited number in our online shop. We hope you will love them as much as we do, all profits raised will go straight to our Sanctuary and caring for our rescues.

Cat of the Month

Dylan seeks a lap to snooze on!

This 10 year old handsome gent came to us as a sad and scared old street cat. He was in a sorry state, and needed urgent medical attention, making us wonder what this old chap had been through, and glad he was finally safe with us.

Initially Dylan was a little nervous, and given his need for a little extra TLC we asked if one of our amazing fosterers would take him home so he could be treated like the king he is.

Dylan quickly began to flourish and his sad eyes brightened up, and look how beautiful they are! His foster mum has really bought out this geriatric hunks loving side. He has become a big old softie lap cat! As soon as a lap is available, he's on it, and he enjoys sleeping on the bed at night with his head resting on his foster mum's arm! We have also discovered he likes human company, even after all that neglect on the streets and the hissing when he was rescued, and he follows his foster mum around like a shadow.

Dylan really will make a lovely, loyal companion for his forever human. He loves a gentle play, is very chatty, and enjoys being brushed - except on his belly!
He may look rough and ready, but he's also very gentle, he'll play "grab the fingers with his paws and mouth" when he's playing but is always careful not to bite or extend his claws.

This gentle geriatric hunk of love is looking for a warm comfy lap of his very own, ideally as the only pet, so he is not stressed out with introductions, and he can enjoy ALL the fuss to himself. If you would like to be Dylan's well-deserved forever home please give our rehoming team a call on 01275 474 719 or email us on

You can see his profile here.

Dog of the Month

Could you give Blitz his forever home?

Meet Blitz, a handsome Husky, American Bulldog cross, who is really very loving, but can be a little shy at first.

He's a big chap, and can be strong on the lead so would need someone who can handle this hunk of love, especially as he has not been socialised well with other dogs and will need to learn how to make friends. With an experienced owner who can manage Blitz, we are confident it would not be an issue for long, as he really has a heart of gold.

He's 10 years old, and we would love to find him a quiet, calm pet free home with a warm sofa of his own to sleep on. Blitz is currently in a foster home, at 10 years old and a real homebug, he was struggling in the kennel environment.

You can take a look at Blitz's profile here.  If you would like to set up a meeting with Blitz, please contact our rehoming team on 01275 474719 or email or pop in.

Christmas Kittens!

We are still in kitten season!! Although kitten season should be winding down now, we are still very much in the thick of it! We have this week taken in two more new mums with kittens, and with each kitten eating 2.5 pouches of food a day, we are currently going through 160 sachets of food daily! Our wet food stores are the lowest they have been in years, if you're able to pop a box of food in your shopping trolley and bring it to us, it would be a huge help!

Some of our available for adoption, but please note as we so frequently take in stray mums and kittens, many of our kittens are very nervous and need socialisation, and quiet, patient homes where someone is able to spend time building their confidence and gaining their trust. Many of them are black or black and white, and because of this are often overlooked. Please do give us a call on 01275 474 719 if you think you could be the right home for some timid kittens.

As it looks at the moment we are very likely to have kittens until Christmas, so donations of wet kitten food would be very welcome! Sainsburys do their own grain free kitten food in jelly for £2.35 - so for the cost of a coffee you can feed 4 very hungry kittens (or 5 young kittens just starting to wean)!

Food can be dropped off at our Sanctuary or at our charity shops in Nailsea and Weston-super-Mare. If you'd prefer to order online we know that amazon is expensive, and we don't always receive contact details so we can't thank our lovely donors. We recommend Zooplus or Bitiba. Felix and Whiskas in Jelly are preferred please, unfortunately the gravy sachets don't agree with their little sensitive tummies. Thank you so much for helping us take care of so many kittens, we couldn't do it without you.
