There are eleven classes in our Fun Dog Show, plus Judges Favourite!

Two more sleeps! It's our biggest fundraising event of the year on Sunday and we cannot wait to see you all!

Come and join us for our Fun Dog Show, and let us entertain you! We've got so many exciting activities for our four-legged best friends, they could clean up in our Fun Dog Show, learn some agility skills at Have a Go Agility from South West Dog Skills, boss the Ultimate Ninja Warrior Dog Activity Zone or win big on Doggy Tombola!

Fill your boots (and tums!) with delicious food from our incredible caterers, we're especially excited for delicious vegan food from The Spotless Leopard and The Hogless Roast!

We've got amazing homeware and artwork from our talented traders, not forgetting some fine crafts and beautiful keepsakes.

Kids have a play in the Fun House, on the Trampolines, Bumper Carz, or they could make Sand Art!

The Fun Dog Show has 11 fun categories for your dogs to enter in the dog show for just £2 per class entry, and and winners are automatically entered into Judge's Favourite!

Entry is £2 for adults, kids go free!
This year we are closer to the Main House, please use postcode BS41 9JN for sat navs. Please enter using Kennel Lodge Road, you’ll pass UWE on your left and then there will be signs to turn left at the Woodland, going into Smythe Field. The top of Smythe Field is our car park, which is shared with another event on the day, but they will park at the bottom of the field.

Kittens needing homes!

We’ve still got lots of kittens ready and waiting to be adopted by their forever families, but this year, we are in no shortage of black and black & white kittens!

They are just the cutest and full of character, but sadly they are the most overlooked! Most of the kittens are looking to be adopted in pairs, but we do have some confident individuals too.

We’ve got lots of kittens ready and waiting to be adopted by their forever families, but this year, we are in no shortage of black and black & white kittens! They are just the cutest and full of character, but sadly they are the most overlooked! Most of the kittens are looking to be adopted in pairs, but we do have some confident individuals too.

We do ask that kitten adopters can be home most of the day initially, as these little cuties need lots of company to help them become confident and well socialised cats. An outdoor space for when they are older is also essential but, not too near busy roads so that we can ensure their safety.

We are always in need of high quality kitten food and Cimicat milk for the kittens, as they will be with us for 9 weeks, until they are old enough to leave mum and go to their furever homes.

For more information and to complete an application form please email, or pop down to the Sanctuary during our open hours to have a chat with the re-homing team.

Cat of the Month

This amazing chap is Toby; he has come to us from a farm where he has had very little human contact, so is understandably still a little nervous of new people, but is gaining in confidence every day and will allow people who go slowly with him to stroke his gloriously big cheeks and kiss his head!
Toby is desperate to find a quiet, calm home with experienced owners who have the time and patience to help him become the confident cat he is longing to be.  He does have FIV so will need to have a special home where he can’t come into contact with other cats. If you think you could give this handsome boy his Happy Ever After, then please do get in touch with us. Thank you.

Toby has even written his own special poem... he’d love it if you could read his plea:

When I first came to Holly Hedge, I was extremely shy.
Maybe that’s why everybody seemed to pass me by.
But now I’ve grown in confidence, surely you can see,
just how sweet and friendly, I’ve turned out to be.
I’d love to be adopted and find a cosy home.
Somewhere warm and loving, that I can call my own. xxxx

Please get in touch with our rehoming team if you would like to offer this lovable rogue a home to call his own.

Dog of the Month

Can you help this lovely boy?

Due to issues with separation anxiety and a new baby on the way, Duke sadly became too much to handle in his previous home. He is full of beans and can be strong on the lead, however with some training and time this could be overcome. He is sociable with other dogs but can be a bit boisterous so he will need plenty of space to interact and play. He can also become quite fixated on other dogs and struggles to know how to interact with them. Having no social skills, he will need one-to-one training in the home, and initially will need to be walked in a quieter more rural area to not become over stimulated. He really doesn't like to be left alone either, so he will need someone who can be home with him initially all of the time, then slowly building his tolerance to be left with a regular routine and some stability and training. In the garden he can be an escape artist so he will need good secure fencing and again his need to escape will need some work in the home.

Handsome Duke is really struggling in the kennel environment so we are now urgently looking for a very special person ideally with experience of the Boxer breed to help him with his training needs either of a short or long term basis.

We understand that Duke has training needs and we would love to find him an adult home with someone experienced in bigger breeds who could just give this lovely dog the chance to thrive. He will need to live as an only pet and with adults or older teens only. He really is a lovely dog who just needs some guidance but will reward you with big soppy cuddles and utter devotion in return.

Please call and speak to our re-homing team for more information on 01275 474719 if you think you can help.

Thank you xx
