Come along and enjoy the party atmosphere of the Victory Dance celebrating the end of World War 2 in aid of Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary.

"The Thornbury Swing Band" shall be playing all the swingtime numbers to get you "In the Mood" and actors shall be mingling amongst you as larger-than-life characters from the war era.

So dust off your party clothes and come and enjoy the fabulous music and dancing. Civilian and military costumes from the era are encouraged, although not compulsory.

There will be a bar serving all the usual suspects, as well as a WI stall selling teas/coffees and homemade cake.

There will be special guests, including Normandy Veteran Reg Charles and Michael Kelly, the author of "Just a Boy from Bristol".

Also included is a basic swing dance lesson at the beginning of the evening and there will be an old-fashioned sing-song during the interval.

Tickets are £12 each, if purchased in advance, which includes your very own ration bag, and can be purchased from Eventbrite, or by contacting Tania Long at herbie.inca@yahoo.co.uk or Ginny Matchwick at ginny.matchwick@gmail.com

Tickets will be £15 on the door on the night.

We are very excited to once again be organising an amazing sponsored Newfoundland Dog Water Rescue event in Portishead Marina on Saturday 15th July 2017, working with The Newfound Friends team. Newfoundland dogs are as much at home in water as on dry land, these life-saving dogs are taking the plunge to support Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary. This is your chance to dive in and do your bit too – but be prepared to get wet as you experience for yourself what it’s like to be rescued by a 150lb hero. You can make a real difference to our work by taking part in this truly exhilarating, once in a lifetime event. All we ask is for you to pledge to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship money to take part. All proceeds will come back to helping the animals in our care.

To find out more or to register for a place and receive your fundraising pack, please contact Hannah on 01275 474 719, or email hannah.wozniak@hollyhedge.org.uk – please note that we have limited places for this event and will register
participants on a first come – first served basis. If you can’t take part in the event, then we’d love to have your support in the stands on the day!
DOG RESIDENT OF THE MONTH - SKIP

Skip is at Holly Hedge due to a change in personal circumstances. He is used to small children but prefers calmer older children, plus he can be a bit protective over his ball because he loves it so much! Skip does have a Heart Murmur which currently needs no medication, and he still lives a full and happy life and will just need a check up every few years and should be exercised normally. Loving & loyal Skip would like a quiet home with lots of cuddles possibly with another calm dog.

If you would like to find out more about Skip then please contact us today!
CAT RESIDENT OF THE MONTH - TIA

This incredibly stunning girl is called Tia and she is just the sweetest cat you could meet. She has only just arrived with us and is settling in well. Tia came to us as she was really unhappy sharing with the other cats in the home. This means she will need to be the only pet in the house and preferably have no neighboring cats nearby. Tia will need daily grooming to keep her beautiful coat in tip top condition. If you think you’re the one for Tia, then please ask to meet her.

If you would like to find out more about this lovely feline then please contact us today!
