The Blount County Great American Cleanup (BCGAC) is an initiative every spring to encourage residents to take action and beautify their community. Participating in the BCGAC is a great way to improve your community, get volunteer hours, and meet fellow community improvers! See below for this years' BCGAC events. 

Townsend Community Cleanup
March 21st, 9am-12pm
Townsend Visitors Center

Join KBB and Little River Watershed Association for the 4th annual Townsend Community Cleanup! Volunteers will clean up litter on designated Townsend roadsides. 

DASH for TRASH at Broadway Social
April 4th, 11am-1pm
Broadway Social

DASH for TRASH is a fun, family-friendly litter pickup where volunteers try to pick up the most trash in an hour. Afterwards, hang out with us at Broadway Social!

Earth Day Recycling
April 18th, 10am-2pm
First Baptist Church, Maryville

Earth Day Recycling is a drive-through event that allows residents to drop off hard-to-recycle items for proper recycling and reuse. These items include electronics, secure documents, clothes, candles, and much more. For a full list, click the event link above. 

Town of Louisville Cleanup
April 25th, 8:30am-12pm
Rain Date May 2nd
Town of Louisville Town Hall

Join us for the annual Town of Louisville Cleanup! Volunteers will clean up litter on Louisville's roadsides, parks, and waterways. 

City of Alcoa Creek Cleanup
May 9th, 9am-11am
Location TBD

Keep Blount Beautiful, the City of Alcoa, Blount County Soil Conservation District, and Little River Watershed Association are partnering up for a cleanup of Pistol Creek.

KBB loans out litter pickup supplies for those who would like to organize their own litter pickup, including gloves, safety vests, garbage bags, litter pickers, and safety signs. 
Keep Blount Beautiful is now accepting nominations for the Foothills Beautification Awards (previously the BRAVO! Awards.) The awards praise local businesses, organizations, and public property in Blount County for their landscaping and beautification efforts; creative reuse/redesign of a building; and sustainability efforts.

Keep Blount Beautiful is partnering with Little River Watershed Association for the annual Townsend Community Cleanup this spring! All supplies and lunch will be provided.

Townsend Community Cleanup
Hey Teachers- want to introduce sustainable topics and activities to your students? Keep Blount Beautiful can visit your classroom with a variety of lessons, or you can schedule a field trip to our landfill, recycling center, and/or Eco Center.

Litter Pickups

Keep Blount Beautiful Educational Programs

Keep Blount Beautiful provides complimentary education programs to Blount County schools, school programs, clubs, businesses, and other groups. The following programs are offered:

Landfill Tour:
Students and organizations are invited to take an interactive tour of the Alcoa/Maryville/Blount County Landfill.

EcoCenter Activities:
Visit the Keep Blount Beautiful EcoCenter at DENSO Manufacturing to participate in eco-learning activities and games.

Presentations:
Keep Blount Beautiful is able to visit your school or organization to provide educational programs on topics such as stormwater runoff, the 3 R's, and litter prevention.

School Campus Litter Pick-Ups:
Keep Blount Beautiful can visit your school with all the supplies necessary to do a litter pickup of the property! The litter pickup can be preceded by a litter presentation in the classroom.

KBB will visit Maryville Head Start to do the Fred the Fish activity on water pollution. 

3/21 Townsend Community Cleanup
Join us for the 4th annual Townsend Community Cleanup! Volunteers will meet at the Townsend Visitors Center.
