Secular Leaders: This One's For You!
We’re just five weeks away from California Freethought Day (October 14) at the California State Capitol.
With fantastic speakers like Eugenie Scott and Kavin Senapathy, our emcee Steve Hill, live entertainment like Greydon Square and Sean O'Brien, and authors and podcasters like Ryan Bell and Rebecca Hensler, it's going to be a great event.
Did I mention that Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-09) will be there to accept an award for being a founding member of the Congressional Freethought Caucus?
So yeah, it's going to be an awesome day. But not if people don't know about it.

Secular Leadership Day
And because you're a secular leader, we don't want you to forget about Secular Leadership Day on October 13. I hope you can make it, and that you'll encourage others in your circle to join us. Our lineup for Secular Leadership Day is being planned by Rebecca Hensler (founder of Grief Beyond Belief) and Evan Clark (board chair of the Secular Student Alliance).
Rebecca, Evan, and other guests will help us learn more about fundraising, facilitating group dynamics and growth, working with the media, and more. We'll also have a special segment that focuses on the decline of attendance in secular groups and what we can do about it.
Admission to Secular Leadership Day is just $25 and that includes lunch (and it's free for students).
Be Like San Jose
We're thrilled that the Atheist Community of San Jose is investing in Freethought Day weekend, and wanted to share what they did with everyone else.
They're sending four of their organizers to Secular Leadership Day and purchased a Champion Table for 4 at our Supporters' Reception, at a discounted rate ($485). Because they're booked at our chosen hotel, they'll be well-rested and fed the entire weekend without any additional expense. They're even getting shirts, signed posters, recognition, and more, for less than $150 each (plus travel and lodging).
A big thanks to everyone at ACSJ for supporting CFD, and to everyone for all that you do for the secular community.
