It seems that the proverbial sh-t has hit the fan, if one considers the empty shelves where the toilet paper use to be…
Joke apart although we are enjoying the humour that at times has us in stiches; we are living in interesting times and the bold move announced by our president on Monday has certainly concretized the severity of the crisis and the uncertainty of the future.
It is normal to feel a degree of apprehension in view of the circumstances, our world as we know it is about to change completely and although this too shall pass, we have no idea what awaits us. So how do we handle the present?
As we begin the lock down, we are grateful that although we are confined to our homes, we are not prisoners; we are not helpless unless we allow ourselves to lose perspective and give in to fear and panic.
Fear is normal, it is a natural response to the unknown, we need to acknowledge its presence and give it space to express otherwise we would be disrespecting our instinct and shutting down our intuition. Fear is the voice of wisdom asking us to pay attention, honour it and trust yourself; we all have inner resources we haven’t begun to understand.
This global lockdown is giving all of us time to contemplate our lives and re-evaluate our priorities and the contribution we are making to life. Are we adding value to this amazing planet we have chosen to call our home or are we taking it for granted and abusing its resources? The few weeks of lock down have already shown sign of rebirth in nature, giving us a glimpse at how nature of which we are an integral part heals naturally without our interference.
Crisis triggers evolution, before Covid 19 the world was already in crisis and stress was/is the biggest cause of a multitude of lethal diseases. Death is part of life, it is the natural process of moving from one state of being to another, we are eternally evolving Beings. What we need to be concerned about is what we are doing with this amazing gift that we call life.
Everything happens for our learning and evolution, we have created the perfect space to acknowledge all that is good in our lives, all that we are grateful for, to count our blessings and explore the greatest possibility of who we are. This is a time to go within and reassess our values, to deepen our relationship with ourselves, our loved ones and the world, to recognize our gifts and talents and look at what we can add to the tapestry of life.

As unsettling as it may be, it is a privilege to be part of this cycle, make peace with uncertainty, trust that there is a greater picture being unveiled, and we are part of it.
