Level of Service Standard Information
When the Board of County Commissioners adopted the new Land Use Code, effective October 1, 2020, one of the improvements made was the addition of Level of Service Standards (LUC Sec 74-2). Level of service standards apply to any existing county road that experiences an increase in traffic due to a development, from the project entrance to the nearest state highway, city or town road. If the LOS is not met, the development shall make the improvements necessary to meet the LOS standard or wait until the needed improvements are constructed by others. The Public Works Department has created a helpful table that identifies what improvements would be needed on existing county roads. This table can be found here. For questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (970)382-6363.
