March 7, 2019 - Issue 115
Dear <<First Name>>,

Come to me all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

For 2019, our Lenten Sermon Series is entitled, “Reconnecting with an Unhurried God.” In our busy world, God invites us to slow down. As part of that invitation, everyone is invited to sign up to receive a daily mediation/reflection email to help you focus your spiritual life during Lent.

MCC of Greater Saint Louis, MCC Omaha, and Pikes Peak MCC (Colorado Springs) are partnering to do this series and these reflections, so it is also a wonderful opportunity to connect with other MCC folks!

You Should Meet My Son! 2
I Do... ?

An Independent Film by Keith Hartman, Writer/Director/Producer
A Sequel to the award winning 2010 Film, You Should Meet My Son!, You Should Meet My Son 2!: I Do, introduces a new character, a fundamentalist mother who is determined to stop her gay son’s wedding. However, her plans go awry when she accidentally befriends his fiancé and comes to accept her gay son and his soon-to-be husband. The movie uses humor to help convey its positive message. Of note, the wedding scene was filmed at an MCC church in Los Angeles.  Watch the trailer.
Easter Lilies

If you would like to honor or remember someone with an Easter lily, please sign up on the back table in the sanctuary.  Each person of honor or remembrance will have their name printed in our Easter Sunday bulletin and lilies can be taken home after service.  The flowers are $15 each; all payments must be made in advance
by April 7th.
The 2019 Bring It Bash Fundraiser
Call For Planning

The 2019 Bring it Bash Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th from 6:00-9:30pm.  If you’re interested in being involved in planning for PPMCC’s largest fundraiser of the year, please sign on the table in the back of the sanctuary to let us know that you’re interested.

In our first planning meeting (date TBD), we’ll be considering:
  • The theme for this year’s event
  • A time line for event tasks
  • Setting up committees
  • Helping to find volunteers
Thank you in advance for considering being a part of the planning team!
Volunteers Needed!
Congregational Care Team

The Congregational Care Team needs new members!  This Team Ministry at PPMCC does anything from pray for people who need special prayer, to visiting people in the hospital when they're having surgery and everything in between.  The team assists Pastor Alycia in all of the care needs of the church congregation. If you are interested in this ministry, please email Julia Wedemeyer , or call at 719-205-0359 for more information.
The Divine Image
"Created to Create"

March brings cause for celebration for Divine Image. We are a year old and going strong, with plenty of room for anyone who wants to explore their innate need for creativity, in an informal, drop-in venue.

Discover what it means to be created in God's Image--we are "Created to Create!" Divine Image meets the fourth Saturday of the month, from9 AM-noon in the social hall at PPMCC.  We meet again on Saturday, March 23.  More information is available  from Matthew Keist.
