Friends of Deep Streams,
After more than 2 ½ years in Ventura and Santa Barbara, I will be moving to Los Angeles. I have enjoyed meeting so many of you in the local Buddhist and interfaith communities: Sitting, studying, working, and creating as we awaken and heal the world together.
I wish each of you peace, steadfastness, and vigor in the coming moments, months, and years. Remember, you are the agents of compassion. Your steps, your words, your actions—your practice—present the great Way.
If you wish to participate in a retreat in Santa Barbara/Ventura please let Larry Barber know. If there is a critical mass (at least 10), we can consider that. Over the next months, stay tuned for Deep Streams Zen Institute programs in Los Angeles.
With form that is no form,
going and coming -- we are never astray;
with thought that is no thought
singing and dancing are the voice of the Tao.
Song of Zazen, Hakuin Zenji
Palms together,

Haiku by Larry Barber

the silence
between dove calls
means the world to me

gardeners in shade
two rhythms of raking
the path clear
