Hottest Tracks of 2016

1. Francis and the Lights – See her out (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0)
Francis and the Lights released a stunning pop album with electronic influences this year. They've also toured with Kanye West, MGMT, Drake, Ke$ha, and were featured on several mixtapes with Chance the Rapper.
2. Arrow & Olive - Black & White (CC BY-ND 3.0)
Arrow & Olive from Nashville won us over with their intense indie-folk songs and catchy refrains. We very much like these tiny little songs about love and hope.
3. PHPHAT - The Whip (feat. Mikhaela Faye) (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0)
Hailing from South Africa, PHPHAT's fat electronic hip-hop has a huge crowd of fans in Cape Town, leading to a successful Australian tour. We think it's a matter of time until their international breakthrough.
4. Deadly Past - Memories (CC BY 3.0)
The Deadly Past perfectly set our times to music: Loud, noisy and distorted, angry rock. Go rock it!
5. Rameses B - Burden of Life (CC BY 3.0)
Rameses B channels the sound of the actual youth. Fresh, clear and melodic. Are you into the YouTube phenomenon Monstercat? You already know Rameses B.

Frances and the Lights, Pastures of Andalusia, CC BY 2.0
