Visions from the Heart by Paul & Neelam

April 2017
Some Food for Thought for April FOOLS Day...

What is the most Foolish Thing you have ever done?

Who have you Fooled?

What lesson have you learned by a Fool?

What lesson have you learned as a Fool?

What makes you laugh?

When was the last time you laughed so hard you had tears in your eyes or leaked from somewhere else?

Do you laugh about yourself? When you do so, is there a lesson in it? Who benefits from the lesson?

Do you shock others or are you easily shocked?

What is the funniest joke you know? Is it a dirty joke or a clean one?

Why do you think dirty jokes are more funny than clean jokes?

If you were to tell the story of your life, how would you do it as The Fool?
Shamanic Crystal of the Month; Pyrite

Pyrite enhances the protective and assertive male energies in both men and women. It boosts women’s self-worth and helps overcome tendencies toward servitude and inferiority. For men, it instills a feeling of confidence in one’s masculinity and supports the enthusiastic expression of male eroticism.

Pyrite is a crystal of positive energy, and is extremely helpful for melancholy and thoughts fixed on misfortune and despair. It relieves anxiety and frustration, and as a mirror to the self, reveals the causes behind these emotions and promotes a search for solutions. Pyrite also allows one to see beyond pretense, to what truly lies behind words and actions. It provides the insight that often things that disturb us in others are also present in us.

From the Storyteller

Many years ago, I learned the gift of Laughter.

My mother was sick and I saw that she had become very sad. I was 10 years old at the time and when I asked her of why she was sad, she would only close her eyes, sigh and go to sleep.

I understand the “Why's” of this now. But back then, I had no idea what was happening.

So after five days of this, I had an idea.

I went into her room as she slept and sat as still as possible on a wooden chair...I made no sound. I waited and waited and the room grew darker and darker and darker as the hours passed.

She woke up in the dark and I was still there, fully awake.

She called out to me with sleep in her voice.

I was always good at changing my voice...I used a voice that used to make her laugh; the voice of a silly mule. I used that voice now: “Yes, Mother?”

“What are doing here?”

“Waiting.”

“For what?”

At that point, I lit the oil lamp. The room lit up and Mother took one look at me and laughed. She laughed and laughed and laughed. The tears came...and then the true tears came.

A few minutes later, she wiped them away. And once again, she looked at me and then began to laugh and laugh and laugh.

“What are you doing wearing that?”

“I wanted to hear your laughter. My heart, like our home, has missed the sound of your laughter.”

“Thank you my son.” And with that, she opened her arms and I came to her, embracing her. Mother whispered in my ear; “Thank you, son.”

We got up and I led the way out of the bedroom. I stopped and opened the curtains. Once she saw my backside, again, she laughed and laughed and laughed. “Take that off...it's too funny!”

I had my underpants on my head, my mother's bra on backwards, and my chaps with nothing on underneath.

My teacher had only recently taught me of the Trickster; this was my first time using that Medicine.
