BDS Analytics Releases January 2019 Nevada Retail Sales Report

 
The January report compares January 2019 sales numbers to the year previous, finding that Nevada dispensaries generated $51.9 million in sales in January 2019, 23% growth compared to January 2018. 

Other notable numbers included in the report were flower/bud sales, which made up 35% of sales in January 2019 at $18.3 million. Concentrate sales increased 47% compared to January 2018, contributing to 29% of sales in the most recent reporting period.

News & Announcements

The United States House of Representatives Financial Services Committee recently approved legislation that would allow banks to work with marijuana businesses that are legal under state law.

The SAFE Banking Act, which is sponsored by Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Colo.), has 152 Democratic and 12 Republican co-sponsors, including Nevada Congressman Steven Horsford. The bill would "allow banks to work with dispensaries, growers, and other cannabis businesses, bringing traditionally cash enterprises into the financial system."
