BDS Analytics Releases September 2019 Nevada Retail Sales Report

The September report compares September 2019 sales numbers to the year previous, finding that Nevada dispensaries generated $56.9 million in sales in September 2019, 16% growth compared to September 2018. Compared to August 2019, sales decreased by 9% (attributed to seasonal declines and potentially fallout from the vape segment scare).

Other notable numbers included in the report were flower/bud sales, which made up 44% of sales in September 2019 at $25 million. Concentrate sales increased 6% compared to September 2018, contributing to 23% of sales in the most recent reporting period.

During his recent visit to Las Vegas, South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigie toured Top Notch Dispensary alongside NDA Executive Director Riana Durrett, Esq., and Top Notch owners Daniel Moreno, John Heischman, and Kema Ogden. Touring the minority-owned facility was a conscious decision for Mayor Buttigieg, who praised Nevada's regulatory framework. In a quote to Marijuana Moment, he stated that federal reform should "empower a diverse workforce, make sure that there’s diverse ownership and support independent or family-operated businesses." Buttigeg also commented on the usefulness of medical marijuana and the need to decriminalize marijuana saying that it “needs to be [achieved] legislatively so that this is not the whim of the president, it’s the direction our country is taking. ...It is time for the laws of the country to evolve and I think we can learn a lot from how Nevada has developed the right legal.”
