Our September meeting will be on Tuesday 5th, 6.30pm, at the usual place, St Charles' Church Hall, 1 Kelvinside Gardens, G20 6BG. Please come along if you have views to share on a particular local issue. One of the items on the agenda is parking, as a Regulated Parking Zone (RPZ) has been proposed for the bulk of our area. The formal consultation has not yet begun, but we'd be interested to hear your views. We will also be considering where to hold our next community clean-up – if you're aware of an area that needs attention, please let us know.
We're hoping to arrange an open meeting with a City Council officer to discuss priorities for our area: please let us know what your views are! Watch this space for details and contact us with any ideas you have (contact details below).
The police are looking for your views on local and national policing priorities. You can fill in the Your View Counts Survey 2017/18 on the Police Scotland website – click on the “Take the survey here” link at the bottom of the page or go straight to the survey. It's anonymous (postcode only required) and shouldn’t take long to fill in.
Later this month Doors Open Day will be in full swing (11th to 17th September). Local places of interest participating include the Mackintosh Church and the Sixty Steps, and there will also be a guided walk along some of our River Kelvin bridges.
Residents and customers of shops on Queen Margaret Drive will be pleased to hear that the pavement (or “footway throughfare") on the east side between Oban Drive and Fergus Drive is to benefit from the City Council 2017/18 road investment strategy. We'll keep you posted when we hear more.
As you may have seen, work is well under way on the new Woodside Health Centre at Hinshaw Street. It is hoped that the centre will be open by late 2018.
Finally, Glasgow City Council is looking for people's views on proposed school term dates, holidays and in service days from August 2018 to August 2020. You can see the proposed dates on the School Holidays page on the City Council website. The consultation will be open until 30 September 2017.
