PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS
Catherine A. Melquist

MSUA welcomes Solstar Space Co. as the newest member to join our association.  I am particularly pleased to make this announcement as I've known Brian Barnett, the founder
and CEO, for many years and have always found his space-based business pursuits to be both adventurous and inspiring.  As evidence, here's SSC's company description:  Solstar Space Co. develops proprietary technologies and payload & space communicator products, providing commercial internet/communications services to astronauts and machines in space. Solstar's services also enable earth-based customers 24/7 direct access to experiments, cube sats, machines, and colleagues located in space, via their smartphones, or any other internet connected device. Thanks again Brian and Solstar Space Co. for joining MSUA and I will be reaching out to you soon for a Mobility News interview so that we can all learn more about your mobility innovation and thought leadership on mobility market development.

With the addition of Solstar Space Co, four new companies have already joined MSUA this year. Other new members include Blue Sky NetworksCopaSat, and PathFinder Digital. MSUA is offering a one-time membership discount for new members that join the association between now and 31 March 2019. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the benefits of MSUA and add your voice to the satellite-based mobility market community.  See promotion details below.

And, as announced in last week's MSUA Mobility Marketing Committee meeting, MSUA corporate and small business member icons have been created and will be distributed to members this week for use on all print, digital, exhibition and other marketing assets.

Mobile World Congress 2019 starts this week in Barcelona.  At last count, over 42 satellite-related companies exhibiting at this year's show including MSUA members -- Intelsat, iDirect, Kymeta, OneWeb and SES Networks.  This validates MSUA's plan for SATELLITE 2019 where we will be teaming with CompTIA to host a series of end-user panel discussions under the umbrella theme, Satellite Mobility in the 5G Era.  We expect to have more details to share in the coming weeks.
