Join Cub Scouts
Avoca West Cub Scout Pack 7 is recruiting families to the program. Any boy who will be in 1st - 4th grade during the 2017/2018 school year may join. Cub Scouts enjoy: camping; social skills, working with others; monthly outdoor events; learning about history, STEM, health, respect; and crafts.
Come to an introductory meeting on Wednesday, April the 12th in the Avoca West lunchroom. We will see a demonstration of remote control jet airplanes. Very cool for all ages! Any questions, please contact Andy Olcott at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Avoca District Green Committee Is encouraging families to celebrate Earth Hour on March 25, at 8:30 p.m.
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held annually encouraging individuals, communities, households businesses and schools to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. towards the end of March, as a symbol for their commitment to the planet.
Avoca classrooms participated in a mini “Lights Out” event on March 21st. Here is a very short clip About Earth Hour.
