Dear “Woods” Family
The words of the old song, “It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas” perfectly describe life at the Woods. What a joy it is to hear our girls’ using their voices with such joy and passion as they rehearse and prepare for their respective shows.  Magic certainly happens up here in the Woods and the little Gr 000 “Singing Angels” were seen flying down to the “Big School” to deliver their invitations this morning. Needless to say, the cute factor had everyone captivated as they sang their way into the hearts of the lucky recipients! From leaving the Woods, to the main admin block, to the Prep and across the grass to the chapel, the cute factor had everyone captivated! The High School girls were completely entranced as the little angels flew down the aisle, burst into song and confidently invited everyone to “Please come to our show next week”. The delight on the faces of everyone in the chapel was truly wonderful to see and I was so very proud of our little girls who enjoyed every minute of their adventure.

We have many events lined up for the next few weeks and our Gr 000’s Angel Plays are first in line. The Peter Rabbits are first in line on Wednesday 13th November at 09h00 in our Woods hall, followed by the Benjamin Bunnies on Thursday 14th November at 09h00. My advice would be to ensure you have some tissues ready as both classes have outdone themselves this year and I suspect there won’t be a dry eye in the room. Last year a poor granny had to travel for 2 hours to get here in time but her words meant everything to us. She said: “Even though it took me 2 hours to get here in the traffic, I would do it again in a heartbeat. What a wonderful morning – it has filled my soul!”  I can’t wait to hear your feedback next week as we all celebrate our little girls on stage.

Due to the growth in our numbers this year, we can no longer all fit into the space available in the chapel for our usual Nativity. To accommodate this growth, we decided it was time for the Gr 00’s to have their chance in the spotlight and a new Nativity was born. I have no doubt you will all be delighted with the new, “hot-off-the-press” nativity called “The Baby King” which features a number of fresh, new carols and foot-tapping songs. This will take place on Friday 22 November at 09h00 in our chapel so get there early to book your spot.

The Gr R’s have been working hard on their beautiful Nativity called “The Star of Dreams” which will be presented in the chapel on Friday 29 November at 09h00.  We have written in extra roles and extra lines to accommodate the wealth of talent on offer and I know you are all going to be blown away by the confidence and dramatic flair on display. There is no doubt that we have prepared our girls very well for Grade 1 – they are ready for any challenge!

More about our final Blazer Ceremony for our Gr R girls in my next newsletter. Until then, may you all enjoy a wonderful weekend as you take some time out to relax amidst the busyness of this time of the year.

Kind regards
Joyanne West

Puppet shows, painting, playing and learning are all part of our day at school.

Dressing up is the best when it's done with friends. So much learning takes place everyday as we embrace everything that is on offer.

Reading, writing, baking, creating ... it's the name of the game. Our big sisters from the Prep joined us for some story time.
