Mid-Atlantic Conference

The 2016 edition of the Mid-Atlantic Conference was a success! The complete refrigeration and sealed system class had every seat filled, clearly demonstrating the need for comprehensive appliance training in that growing segment of the industry. The television and LCD/LED panel repair classes also had great attendance, and the round table was open to a true discussion, helping to increase understanding between service administrators and the service providers. The trade show was the largest of the past several years, and it was great to see the different vendors present.

If you missed the 2016 MAC, go ahead and make plans to attend the 2017 conference, which will be held June 7-10 2017, at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center. We will have more details soon on our website at epea.us, and we will also provide updates here on the EPEA Communicator. Stay tuned, and we hope to see you there!

What's This?
In case you are wondering what you are reading, this is the new EPEA Communicator. It will be the (mostly) monthly email newsletter containing tech tidbits, industry news, and EPEA news and events, and whatever else we find that relates to the service industry. If there is something you would like to see, or if you have an article you would like to add, or any information for the appliance and television service industry, please email it to communicator@vpea.org
Going... Going... Gone!
It has finally happened, although many people have thought it happened years ago... the last VCR has rolled off the line of the last company that was manufacturing them. Funai Electric Co. of Japan ended VCR production at the end of July. According to their production numbers, they were able to sell nearly 15 million VCRs in one year at their peak but last year, they only sold 750,000 units. Who would have thought they would have sold that many last year?
New Website!
If you have not been to our website recently, check it out at epea.us. We have given it quite a make-over, and have added a lot of training material and service manuals. You have to be a member of the EPEA to access the material, so if you are not a member, sign up here and also register for website access from the home page. Once you are approved as a member, your website access will be activated.
