Know Your Customers

Did you know that you can see what your customers are searching for in your area? Google provides a Keyword Search tool that enables you see see who is searching for what. This can be useful to tweak your website so the search terms will hit your site more often, or to even explore other branches of service to help grow your business. For example, you can search in your area the difference in searches for "TV Repair" versus "Appliance Repair." How about "iPod Repair" or "iPod Cracked Screen" because if that is a hot search term in your area, and nobody is doing the repairs, you have a new opportunity! You can even look at neighboring areas so see what may be needed.

This is a very smart marketing tool, especially with the growing trend of people using the internet to find help for their broken products. You will probably find that by changing the keyword search, you will see a big difference in the results. If you specialize in one or two brands, you can see what areas you are most likely to get the most business, and can target your advertising to that area. You may find that nobody is looking for what you are specializing in, but that is good! By learning this, you can move to something else that is in demand, and stay ahead of the competition.

Of course, if you do move into a new unfamiliar area, you are not alone. The EPEA provides service and training material on our website that can help you to learn a product quickly. We also have a Tech-to-Tech forum so that you can ask any question you have, and get it answered by some very friendly and knowledgeable technicians and business owners. If you are not a member, join now! We would love you have you.
Plan Ahead
Summer is over, so now is the time to start thinking about the Holidays. We have an idea of something you may want to include in your plans. A party! Clear your calendar for Saturday, December 3, 2016, and plan to be at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel (757-481-9000).

There will be a Board Meeting starting at 2pm to be followed by a discussion group that will cover all kinds of topics pertinent to our industry. The party will start at 6pm. There will be games, prizes, libations, dinner and a special visitor.

The Hotel has given a special room rate of $79.00 per night to all EPEA members attending this event. The cost for the party will be $20.00 per person. The chance to relax and enjoy the day and evening, especially at this time of year, is a treasure.

Because of all the work our President Corey Brazell has put into the newly updated website, you will soon be able to register and pay for the party on our website. Check it out at epea.us (also www.vpea.org) and register for the party before Thanksgiving.

Hope to see all of you December 3, 2016 at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel!
