Thank you for joining us in prayer this week.  We acknowledge together that God is greater, that he is our hope and comfort and that he reigns over all things.

Celebrations:  The Department of Education has given permission to speak to Elementary and High School students about Christ for the whole of our local city. We started last week and have made great connections already. This permission has only been granted until March (end of the school year) please pray that it gets renewed next year too.

A big celebration - I'm getting married in December!

Challenges: We're going through a big transition over here where a few of us (myself and fiancé included) will be leading/pastoring a church. Me and Joseph (fiancé) have been heading up departments but to lead a church, for us is a big deal. I'm very excited but very anxious to meet certain expectations and make an impact (I'm of a more behind the scenes kind of worker). Please pray for these transitions, as well as my personal transition as I become a wife.

Celebrations:  The small victories we see happening in the church; we received 2 people into membership this summer. We have three pensioners (Gert-Marie, Annelies and Kerstin) who evangelise through a drop in meal which around 50 unchurched people attend once a month.

We are grateful for God's care for Anneke. She had a 2½ hour long operation for the removal of her gallbladder (300 stones!!!) and for her speedy recovery afterwards.
We celebrate the opportunity she has to make a difference in the life of teenagers through teaching English.

-    Anneke - standing as a Christian in a secular school.
-    Sharing the gospel in a hedonistic, self-sufficient culture, i.e we tried to do an Alpha & nobody came. It is a result of the indifference people have to God, it is hard to do evangelism here.
-    Phill is going to start learning southern Sami which will give him not only a basic grasp of a difficult language but also an insight into the culture of the indigenous people group here.
-    Pray for Gert-Marie, Annelies and Kerstin, as they share with their lunch group, that this will result in fruit.
-    Pray for Phill this winter as he drives long distances on icy roads in temperatures that can drop to -35°C and lower, sometimes in snow blizzards.

Sophie Moore from Coastlands Elim Church will be working at the ‘Be Free’ Centre in Cambodia until April 2020.
