Thank you for joining us in prayer this week.  We acknowledge together that God is greater, that he is our hope and comfort and that he reigns over all things.

VOLCANO TAAL - PHILIPPINES

Elim missionary, Lynette Orange, updated us on the current situation in the Philippines:

“Following the activity of the Taal volcano there are 2 churches in the Living Epistle network that have been directly affected in the towns of Ambulong and Laurel. These were areas within the 14km striking range and have now been put on lockdown and are ghost towns.  We have no idea at this moment in time what damage has been done to the churches or the homes of their members. During the panic families have been separated and are staying in different evacuation centres. There are 3 other Living Epistle Churches nearby who are caring for the evacuees.
Our urgent needs are for clothing, especially underwear, toothbrushes, toothpaste, blankets, food and water. It is unknown how long it will be until they can return to their homes. Taal Volcano continues to spew ash and smoke and predictions of an eruption are anywhere between 3 days and 7 months. Please pray for safety as the volcano is still on alert 4 meaning an eruption can take place at any moment. Pray for provision of the urgent needs and that the volcano will stop so that people can go back to their homes.”

ELIM GLOBAL CONFERENCE - INDIA

Please pray for the forthcoming EG Conference on 21-23 January and for all those travelling to attend.  Pray for God to use those speaking to inspire the Elim partners serving in that area of the world.

THE PERSECUTED CHURCH

Open Doors has produced The World Watch List 2020 which ranks the 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. Please pray for these nations:  https://worldwatch.opendoorsuk.org/persecution/world-watch-list/

Please also pray for Open Doors and their work with local churches to support persecuted believers around the world.
