A Note from Deb
 

“But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord.
At an acceptable time, O God, 
in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me.” 

Those words are found in Psalm 69, verse 13, 
in the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible.  
And they are among my all-time favorites,
whether within or “without” the Scriptures.

In so few words, they assure me of so much.

They remind me, first of all, to focus on God.
They remind me that my prayer is to God
whether it’s a prayer of joy and gratitude 
or a prayer of desperate pleading--
although truth be told, I generally find this verse bubbling to the surface of my soul
much more readily in times of desperate pleading
than in moments of joy and gratitude.

But the very first words--“But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord”--remind me 
that I am praying to God.
God, who is the Creator of all that is…
God, who is above all and in all and beyond all…
God, who knit me together in my mother’s womb 
And knows me more truly and intimately than I know myself…
God, who loves me more truly and deeply than I can comprehend….
It is to this God that I offer my prayer.
And in being reminded of that, I am reminded to trust….

New Carts: We would like to thank the Santa Fe Korean Fellowship for their generous gifts which a new coffee cart and a new metal serving cart. 

Environmental Presentation: The Albuquerque Forum on Faith and Politics will have a presentation titled “Climate Crisis – What Can I Do?” on Sunday February 16, 2020 from 3 pm to 5 pm at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 5301 Ponderosa NE, Albuquerque. For more information, pick up a flyer in the hallway.
 
This devotional is composed of contributions from members of congregations in the Los Alamos area. If you would like to write a devotional, please sign up on the clipboard in the hallway and instructions will be emailed to you. They are due February 7, 2020
 
 Save the Date –Annual Congregational Meeting:
The session has called for the Annual congregational meeting for next week, February 9th immediately after Sunday Worship in Memorial Hall.  Please pick up a copy of a procedural change to the By-Laws that will be proposed by the session at the Congregational Meeting.

Praying for neighbors in White Rock:  Pastor Deb invites anyone to join her in a prayer walk each Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. We meet at WRPC and go as the Spirit leads.
 
  Coffee from Café Justo: NEW SIZE! Just in time for the new year: 4oz gift size bags. $4 each or three bags for $10. We still have 1lb bags for $13 in the hallway. Please pray for Café Justo growers Edmundo Ballinas and Victor Barrios and for the work of Frontera de Cristo, the Presbyterian Border Ministry that supports Café Justo. 
Thanks to a $3000 grant from Presbyterian Mission Agency Restricted Funds, WRPC and Nihitaa' Binaanish, Our Father's Business, will be able to improve housing like this one on the Navajo Nation south of Gallup.  Look for opportunities to serve on this project in 2020.  And Praise God for his faithfulness as we partner with Fred and Lorraine Thomas and the House of Fellowship in community self-help ministry.
Office Hours”:  Pastor Deb will have office hours this week on Tuesday morning from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Pig + Fig for anyone who would like to chat. Coffee and pastries are her treat! “Journeys in Faith”:  Our WRPC Science and Faith Dialogue meets on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the Reinovskys’, studying Alister McGrath’s book “The Great Mystery:  Science God and the Human Quest for Meaning.” Contact Reinovsky’s for information.

Call for New Logo Submissions The Presbytery is accepting design ideas for a new logo. We invite you and any creative types in our congregation to consider offering artistic visions that could be incorporated into a new logo for the Presbytery of Santa Fe. They will be receiving designs until February 7th at which time they will be prepared for a review process at the February Presbytery meeting.

AED Available:  
We have recently installed an Automated External Defibrillator near the kitchen entrance. An AED is a rescue device to aid in a cardiac emergency. 
Invitation to Serve in Worship Leadership:
  The Worship Ministry Team is always happy to offer an opportunity for members and friends to participate in worship leadership, such as by filling the Liturgist role. Contact Joyce, Selma or Bob if you would like to share your gift of leadership.
