New Release for Android

MapTrip 4.10 - Maps and Traffic Data from Here available

In this release we have made many small optimizations, for example the display of the map in the MapTrip app. Users of FollowMe and 112 Detour Editor can be happy about some new features.

In addition to maps from TomTom and OSM, maps and traffic data from Here are now available. If you are interested, please contact our sales staff. All other changes in the current release (for Android) can be found in the new changelog in the Developer Zone.

Review PMR Expo 2019

Great success for MapTrip 112

At the end of November we presented MapTrip 112 and the MapTrip Detour Editor at the PMR Expo in Cologne, the trade fair for fire brigades, emergency forces and police.

We are pleased about the positive feedback of the visitors and project inquiries from numerous professional fire brigades.

This confirms that we are on the right track with our strategy to develop special navigation systems for different industries. In 2020, we will stick to this strategy and continue to develop our products and functions, always in close cooperation with our customers.

Highlight 1 from 2019: Use-Case and Video

Winter road clearance services at Leipzig-Halle Airport rely on MapTrip FollowMe

New and temporarily employed drivers are trained every year at Leipzig-Halle Airport. But what is taught in summer often has its pitfalls at the onset of winter: poor light conditions, snow-covered roads and signs. In addition, there is time pressure to clear the roads as quickly as possible.

Find out from René Kirsten, Head of Winter Services at Leipzig-Halle Airport, how he digitised both the support of the drivers on the routes and the high documentation requirements in a successful project.

Highlight 2 from 2019

MapTrip Remote: Navigation easily controlled by Remote Control

In our new telematics framework MapTrip Remote we have combined navigation, server and web to a new whole, so that you can use the functionality of MapTrip even more easily.

In the new browser application, you can not only follow the positions of the navigation devices live, but also display their current routes and the traffic situation. The calculated arrival time is also displayed. In addition, individual destinations, stop lists and even complex routes can be sent to the individual navigation devices.

Take a direct look at how you can now conveniently control your navigation devices remotely. We have prepared a short application video and more detailed information.

Highlight 3 from 2019

MapTrip Connected Traffic
guides you past the traffic jam

With the increase in traffic, predicting the fastest route is becoming increasingly important, because nobody wants to spend valuable time in traffic jams.

MapTrip uses RTTI data for route calculation, which we combine with other route data. MapTrip has already won several awards for this type of real-time calculation. Read how the calculation works and why you should book Connected Traffic with MapTrip.

Highlight 4 from 2019

How modern navigation software uses Big Data for Route Guidance and Traffic Avoidance

Traffic information has developed considerably in recent years.
In the early days, purely editorial reports from the police or ADAC were read out on the radio.

And what does it look like today?

The Big Data approach creates a detailed picture of the traffic situation from as large a quantity of raw data and cars as possible. But how are these Big Data processed sensibly and where will the journey take us in the future? What are the differences between Google Maps and other navigation software?

Read more about the state of the art in traffic jam avoidance.
