The first leg of the inaugural Murray-Goldburn Showdown was a great success and now we turn to another beautiful part of Victoria - Shepparton for the Shepparton Shootout
We are also fast approaching the Open Water Season and have got some great meets/clinics coming up to get your 'swim fit'
Congratulations to all the MSV swimmers who have been travelling around Australia competing in the 2018 Swim Series in NSW and in Alice Springs - we cannot wait for the final results to be published as we are sure MSV swimmers will dominate again. And we wish all that have entered Pan Pacs the best of swimming.
Now if you are in Melbourne on Thursday 25 October head to MSAC for the Australian Short Course Champs - Showcasing Masters on that night. Our friends at Swimming Victoria have a 25% discount code to share!  CODE: SVICSC

This is Pat’s fifth Masters world record but the first achieved in this age group and in his favourite stroke! Congratulations Pat. What an achievement.

FUND-RAISING  WITH A BUNNINGS SAUSAGE SIZZLE
Two clubs are benefitting from this wonderful fund-raising opportunity offered by Bunnings to non profit organisations.  Powerpoints held one at Port Melbourne Bunnings on Saturday, 6 October and Casey Seals on Saturday, 13 October at Fountain Gate.
Mary Sontrop (secretary of Powerpoints) says that it is not hard to set up - go to the “In Our Community” section on their website and make an application to your local Bunnings. They are very helpful - telling you how to apply for a Street Trader permit and roughly how many sausages etc you need to get.
Bunnings do require proof of your Public Liability Insurance and expect you to charge standardised prices for your sausages and drinks.  It doesn’t take many volunteers to run the sizzle so even smaller clubs can have a go.  And, Powerpoints report back on the amazing generosity of so many customers who didn’t want small change when buying a sausage or two. Both clubs report that they made over $1000. Great work!
To get the Public Liability Interested Persons certificate that Bunnings sometimes request contact us at MSV and we can organise one for your club, juts make sure you give us enough time to do so. Also If your club does organise one please let us know as we can share on Social media and encourage members to get busy at Bunnings when you are there. Here are some great shots from the respective sizzles.

2018 Baddaginnie Animal Postal Swim Results
2018 was the 32nd year anniversary of the Baddaginnie Animal Postal Swim and was revived by Surrey Park Seahorses in 2016. This postal swim comprises 200m Fly, Back and Breast along with a 400m IM and an 800m Free all swum in the one day.  Keep your eyes on MSA website for the 2019 Postal swims.

Now for a bit of swimming fun!
These little cuties trained for an hour on Tuesday at Fitroy pool, trying out every lane and disrupting the humans.  Mum then marshalled them on pool deck and they waddled off behind her to rest.  One human was heard grumbling that they hadn’t even paid!
Possibly a new Masters club in the making
