Volunteer Jobs and Employment

Inclusive World continues volunteer jobs with Girl Scouts of San Jose where our two volunteers work on e-filing Girls Scouts Awards documentation: Tasks include Scanning, organizing digital folders and shredding scanned documents. We have one volunteer at Art of Living Finance Department in San Jose who scans official documents and maintains digital folders to help minimize storage of physical copies of documents. We are very happy to share that three more volunteers will start jobs at Art of Living, West San Jose, by January. Our Volunteer jobs program continues to provide key job skills that candidates need to seek gainful employment.

In mid-July, Inclusive World created a partnership with the well renowned 'The Arc San Francisco' to refer candidates to their Career and Development program. We referred two candidates and both candidates attended on-site interviews. While we await results, we are excited about the potential job opportunities for our youth through partnerships such as this.

The Voices of...

A Volunteer who joined us after seeing our website:

I am a newbie to the Inclusive World family, but am glad I have a chance to participate! I have never worked with anyone with different needs and I was scared at first, but it warms my heart to see you kids work with colors and now I am so happy to volunteer. So thank you for opening up your world to me - Shalini Suresh

A Parent of a participant at Arts and Crafts:

This is our first time and Aravind really enjoys the program! I also feel  this is a great opportunity for Aravind to be a part of this program because they are doing this as a small scale business oriented which really gives satisfaction to everyone in the team! - Lakshmi Avinasiappan

A Special Ed Teacher's Aide Volunteer:

As an Instructional Assistant in a Special Needs classroom working with children aged 4 - 6, I primarily work with them towards their life skills and academic goals. Usually, I do not get to see the children move forward in their thinking as they get older, but Inclusive World provides me with this opportunity and helps me understand the progression of kids several years out. IW is definitely nourishing the special abilities of children and serving as a tool to develop skills for their future. - Priya Rajaram

Wishing you a joyful end of 2016 and a happy 2017!
