C.L.A.W. (Charlottesville Ladies Arm Wrestlers) Fundraiser for Cville Immigrant Bond Fund!

Saturday, June 29, 7 to 11 pm, Champion Brewing Company, 324 6th S. St., Charlottesville.
Attend an evening of arm wrestling and antics as we grip up for the Cville Immigrant Bond Fund. This fund assists local undocumented families to pay for legal representation and obtain release from ICE detention. Visit this Facebook page for more information, and/or buy tickets here.
 

Signatures Needed! A Public Statement on Immigration Enforcement

Deadline to sign: this Sunday, June 30, 8 pm.
CIRAC (Charlottesville-area Immigrant Resource and Advocacy Coalition) is collecting signatures on this letter that will go to regional law enforcement agencies and the press on Monday, demanding non-cooperation with ICE actions. 
Please sign (for yourself and/or on behalf of your organization) and share widely. 
 

Bus Trip to Richmond to Advocate for Prevention of Gun Violence

A 3-hour experiential workshop--facilitated by the Welcome Circle: www.thewelcomecircle.org. (See flyer) Participants will have the opportunity to self-reflect and interact with one another around the way’s faith communities have been/are institutions of oppression and what their vision is for different kind of faith community. We will practice some structures and practical tools designed to unite and unleash the power of our differences of race, culture, religion, socio-economic class, gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation in a spiritual, faith community context. 22nd Annual Westhaven Community Day - Participation and Contribution

Saturday, August 3, 10 am to 6 pm, 803 Hardy Dr, Charlottesville
Westhaven Community Day has become a pillar of strength in the Charlottesville community by bringing individuals, families and organizations together each year. Residents from all surrounding neighborhoods are invited to a day of family fun and activities, including Music, Food, Dancing, Community Information and Health Fair, Games, Awards, Sports Physicals and more! We also have 60 vendors and exhibitors, free sports physicals, free blood pressure screenings, and free HIV and Hep C testing. C’Ville Sing Out!

Everyone in our community is invited to participate in a wonderful group singing event - a positive celebration of our town to promote love and brotherhood among all races, cultures, and beliefs. SAVE THE DATE: Back-to-School Bash!

Saturday, August 17, 10:30 am to 12:00 noon, Sprint Pavilion
The Bash provides school supplies and backpacks for up to 1200 local youth. This initiative is funded with private donations large and small. It costs $25.00 to supply one student with grade-specific supplies and a stylish backpack. Go to their website to Donate and Volunteer.
