Dutch trade mission to Indonesia

Marconi contract signed
After some years of preparation, the Delfzijl Marconi project in The Netherlands, is finally on. The project is situated along the Ems-Dollard estuary, which is one of the two remaining open estuaries in the Netherlands. Read more.
IUCN presents Framework Nature-based Solutions

In the report, IUCN defines NbS and proposes an operational Framework, to guide implementation of NbS. 'By unifying NbS approaches under a single operational Framework, it becomes possible to scale up their implementation and strengthen their impact, IUCN states. Read full report.

Halfway the project BE SAFE
BE SAFE (Bio-Engineering for Safety using vegetated foreshores) is now approximately halfway the project. A lot of data has been collected in the field and in the laboratory. Read more.
 
Pilot Houtribdijk

The pilot Houtribdijk, a pilot project to test a sandy reinforcement in a lake environment, has already produced a large amount of information and insights since its construction in July 2014. This knowledge has been applied to several other projects in The Netherlands. Read more.

Climate adaption in cities with Nature-based Solutions
In the project City Deal Climate Adaptation the municipalities of Dordrecht, Zwolle and Eindhoven collaborate with Ecoshape and TAUW on climate robust development, through applying 'Nature-based Solutions'. Read more.
To plant or not to plant?
Mangrove planting has become hugely popular. The majority of planting efforts are however failing. A more effective approach is to create the right conditions for mangroves to grow back naturally. Read more.
BwN Design Guideline user survey
