Taste of Heights

Come one, come all to the Taste of Heights! Free Admission. $2 per ticket to sample food from our wonderful Columbia Heights' Restaurants!

Most people buy 3-5 tickets so they can try out different restaurants. One ticket just isn’t enough. Food tickets are $2 each. Tickets available online in packs of 5 ($10). Or you can buy tickets at the door, cash and card accepted at the event.

New this year more seating! The restaurants are aware of food amounts and the expected numbers and will do their best to feed a lot of hungry people! New this year Banfill-Locke will not only be displaying artwork but they will also have a FREE make and take art table downstairs. (Taste of Heights: a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach)

Pet Bed Workshop

Let's be Angels for the pets!

Help us make pet beds for local animal shelters. Bring the whole family, come in by yourself, or bring friends. 

No sewing needed, just hand-tying. Stay for an hour or the whole time. 

If you have any clean fleece blankets, flannel sheets, thick blankets, old sweatshirts etc bring them along and we'll use them! Donations may also be dropped off at the library ahead of time.

Caroling for the Train

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train returns to the corner of 37th Ave NE and Stinson Ave N - Columbia Heights, New Brighton, and Minneapolis on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018. This stop is presented by the East Side Neighborhood Services

The festivities start at 6:30 p.m., including activities and caroling! More activities TBA. The Holiday Train’s estimated arrival is 7:55 p.m. The concert from the train will only be viewable from the north side of the tracks. Once the train pulls in, it will not be possible to cross to the other side of the tracks.

The event is free, but attendees are asked to bring food or financial donations for the local food shelf–East Side Neighborhood Services. 

The mission of the Holiday Train is to address food insecurity in the communities it stops in. Further details will be posted leading up to the event. If you are interested in sponsoring or having a presence at the event, contact info@heightsnext.org.
