Are you passionate about gardening? Or have you wanted to grow your own food, but don't have the space?
Please join us at Lomianki Park for a gardening session!
Since this spring, a group of neighborhood HeightsNEXT volunteers have been working to transform an area of the park into an edible food forest.
The design features apple, peach, pear and cherry trees, strawberries, raspberries, vegetables and herbs. It includes plants that provide habitat for monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
With your help, the space will be transformed into a beautiful and inspiring edible garden. It will be open to all community members who want to learn about gardening and harvest healthy, fresh food.
Our next volunteer session will be held this Wednesday, August 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. Lomianki Park is located at 80 39th Ave (just off of Main St). Click here for directions.
Please come to learn more about the project and lend a hand. We will be mulching, weeding, harvesting seeds and planting. It's fun and relaxing, especially now that the summer weather is so beautiful.
Please also follow our progress and share this project with your friends on Instagram or Facebook.
Thank you for all you do for our community. We hope to see you in the garden!
P.S. Thanks to everyone that came out to Dog Day Afternoon!
