Families had a great time! Shown here a family dancing to the music and readings of our Drag Story Tellers Miss Ginger and Captian Falcum.

Who was at CoHi Pride?

Lots of vendors including our library!

Looking for an LGBTQIA+ book for you, your family or a friend? Cortni or any of the librarians will be happy to help you find something. Here she is with a smattering of smart, fun, and beautiful books!

Guest Speakers, Performers, and a special Birthday Cake!

Pictured here is Lakisha who shared a personal story of coming out and encouraging others to speak their truth, reminded everyone there is a community for them here in CoHi (Columbia Heights).

Who wants a hug?

Need a hug from a Dad or a Mom? We had hugs galore along with many outreach tables with educational info and support networks. When someone lives in a community they shouldn't feel alone. We want to help everyone feel like they belong. Hugs can help.

What were the kid activities?

We had a bouncy house (pictured with volunteers Harry and Molly) and free face-painting, crafts, storytelling, and for all ages FREE ice cream and sorbet sundaes!

Citizen's Proclamation

We requested a proclamation declaring July 13, 2019, as Columbia Heights LGBTQIA+ Pride Day from the Mayor but she denied our request. Not to give up easily we created our own. As you can see many people at the event signed the proclamation! (This photo was taken early on, more signatures were collected all day long.) What a successful day!

Check out our Facebook page for more photos from this wonderful event.

Don't forget to fill in the survey!

It's so important that we hear from you. Please take a moment to fill this in. Thank you so much!

Until next year, stay true to who you are.

We'll leave you with these famous words heard this past week at the Columbia Heights City Council Meeting "You are worthy!"
