Dear Friend,

In the first few years of our lives, our mothers held our hand, picked us up when we fell, and rocked us to sleep. They made every effort to provide a healthy, happy environment and did everything they could to keep us safe from harm. As we grow older, we acknowledge that the role our mothers play still has not changed much. Although moms do not wear an official cape, they are our s/heroes.

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, we realize that the COVID-19 virus has upended our daily routines. It has created an evolving situation with varied impacts around the world leading to uncertainty. For the mothers we serve at Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence, this uncertainty is all too familiar. For these mothers, this day is not about presents, flowers or handmade cards. It’s not a day filled with breakfast in bed, shared joy and laughter. It is a day of draping their invisible capes around their necks and shielding their children and themselves from danger. During this time they worry hour to hour while being forced to shelter in place with their abuser. For these women, Mother’s Day is a day of clinging to hope and seeking a safe, healthy, and stable home.

Against this discouraging backdrop, there is a reason for hope and optimism. Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence plays a large role in our community with programs and services that help achieve our stated mission - to end domestic violence in the moment and for all time!

Celebrate your s/hero and all of the strong, special women in your life this Mother's Day by making a gift to Next Door Solutions in their honor.  We are asking for your help by sending a donation to ensure that each child has everything that your s/hero wanted for you, security, happiness and a healthy family environment.

When you lift up moms in our community, you help entire families.  Your support and partnership make a world of difference for mothers in need in our community and, for that, we are deeply grateful, thank you!

In Peace,

Executive Director

PS. If you donate in your s/hero’s honor, please include her email in the Comments and we will notify her of your gift and send special wishes on your behalf
