2017 Budget Finale:  An amazing turnout of over 50 park bond supporters on September 27, but the Commissioners did not include Park Bond 2008 in the budget.

In the 2017 Budget adopted on September 27, 2016. the Debt Service Fund millage planned for Park Bond 2008 repayment is officially shifted into the Braves stadium bond before funding the $40 million Park Bond.

Commissioner Cupid spoke eloquently about Park Bond 2008: "If the public voted, we have the obligation to respond to that ... This is about public trust."

Commissioner Birrell said the Board plans to issue $24.7 million of the $40 million Park Bond 2008 Referendum on October 25 (about 60% of the original Park Bond). That means only $15.3 million more is needed to fulfill the $40 million Park Bond 2008. Commissioner Birrell also proposed having a new $40 million Park Bond 2017 referendum.
