23 NOVEMBER 2020

Good afternoon all,

Hope you all enjoyed that beautiful sunshine over the weekend. Chamber team had a quiet weekend now that the biggest event of the year was a success.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors and congratulations to the entrants and the winners. Well done to all of the businesses who put themselves out there.

Don't forget the Chamber giveaway, if you attend one of our events before the end of the year you will go into the draw for an All-New Ford Puma or Escape for a weekend courtesy of Fairview Motors.

Only a few more spots left for the event tomorrow, Mental Fitness in Todays World with Sue Kohn-Taylor.

Get your team together for a fun quiz evening, on Thursday 3 December.

Snack-filled Christmas hampers, benefit local breast cancer trial

Waikato Breast Cancer Research Trust is selling Christmas hampers full of delicious snacks to raise funds to help complete a breast cancer study.

The Waikato Breast Cancer Research Trust has partnered with local Waikato businesses this year to put together a Christmas gift hamper to help raise funds for a clinical trial that could reduce a woman’s risk of getting lymphoedema following breast cancer surgery.

The “Sentinel node biopsy versus Axillary Clearance" (SNAC2) trial will show whether it is safe for women with large breast cancers, and more than one cancer in the breast, to reduce the amount of surgery they have. Less surgery will mean less chance of lymphoedema, infection, pain, shoulder stiffness and upper arm numbness.

This trial has been designed and is being led here in the Waikato and to continue the trial we need to fundraise $25,000 for following up with trial participants and complete the analysis of the trial.

Our goal is to sell at least 250 hampers by Friday 4th December.

For more information and to purchase hampers and event tickets go to https://brightasabutton.co.nz/best-of-hamper-fundraiser/
