Seahorse Friendly Management of Swimming Nets

The White's seahorse is a protected species in New South Wales. This species of seahorse has experienced significant population declines due to degradation of its natural habitat. In Sydney Harbour, White's seahorses inhabit artificial swimming nets. This project aims to investigate the effects of net design on the seahorse population.

SIMS congratulates Professor Stefan Williams who was
recently awarded a prestigious title for Marine Robotics


Professor Stefan Williams from the University of Sydney, and leader of IMOS' Autonomous Underwater Vehicle facility managed by SIMS was recently awarded the title of Distinguished Lecturer by the IEEE Ocean Engineering Society for his high degree of technical proficiency in oceanographic research and engineering.
