Dear <<First Name>>,

It's World Oceans Day and we're excited to make the science of the ocean visible

Come take a look, and a listen!

Sydney Harbour acquires luxe new Seahorse BnBs

What better way to celebrate World Oceans Day than with the installation of 18 new Seahorse Hotels or SeaBnBs in Sydney Harbour.  SeaBnB is an exciting fundraising initiative by Taylors Wines and SIMS, supported by a growing community of donors, with special mention to the philanthropic support of Taylors and the Lim-Sutton initiative.

SeaBnB is all about saving the endangered Sydney Seahorse and its endangered habitat.  The BnBs will provide vital housing to the next colony of baby seahorses to be released from the nursery at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium in time for Threatened Species Day in September.

Living Seawalls join The Living Room

Engaging the community in our solutions based research is a real mission for us, and the Living Seawalls team have been out doing just that. In a special feature on Network 10's The Living Room, SIMS' Dr Maria Vozzo and Dr. Aria Lee allowed viewers to see and understand just how Living Seawalls panels are advancing marine biodiversity.

A LIVING SEAWALLS - LIVING ROOM SPECIAL
A coupling of science and beauty

Professor Bill Gladstone recently retired from the University of Technology, Sydney.  Bill has been central to a range of  research projects at SIMS and we wanted to acknowledge his immense contribution to science and science communication.  "Throughout his career he has been careful to infuse a sense of wonder in his teachings, something often lost behind data and the scientific method. He's now rechanneling that curiosity and awe through his photography, a coupling of science and beauty."

Come and explore just a small sample of Bill's photography in Oceans of Wonder, a Wilderness Journal article
